Baptism on Sunday

It looks like everything is set for this Sunday’s baptismal service. We will be meeting at the Best Western on Holiday Inn Drive after our morning service.

We encourage everyone to come out and be a part of this very special day as we witness three of our brothers and sisters making a public proclamation of their decisions to be followers of Jesus of Nazareth.

SUNDAY UPDATE:
This morning was especially awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out to the baptism after the service. It was an incredible turnout and I know that your presence really meant a lot.

If anyone has photos they would like to share please email me here.

Week One Was Great!

Big thanks to everyone who helped out with the Children’s Program last night. Our many days of planning and organization really paid off. The children had a great time (the volume level during game time was intense!) and I know that if I was 8 years old I would come back next week for sure!

The kids (and leaders) learned some new songs, listened and participated in a fun and unique telling of the Israelites journey out of Egypt and across the Red Sea, played some fun and challenging games, and constructed some great shields during craft time. We had a wide range of ages and all were able to participate and enjoy themselves throughout the night.

With the possibility of even more kids attending in the coming weeks we could use even more volunteers to help out. If you are interested in being a part of this meaningful church ministry please speak to Pastor Shawn.

Most importantly, please continue to pray for the kids and leaders as we follow the Holy Spirit in doing all we can to make a meaningful impact on our neighbourhood from week to week.

Children’s Program Begins Wednesday!

Welcome to a brand new late summer / early autumn at Rawdon. The kids are back in school (whether they like it or not) and here at Rawdon we are inroducing our entirely revamped Wednesday night children’s program.

Free for all children between the ages of 5 and 12. It will be a fun night of Bible stories, games, crafts, and snacks. Our staff of awesome volunteers have been planning throughout the summer to make sure we offer a wonderful and enriching night for the children in the Rawdon Street Baptist area.

Every Wednesday at 6:00 pm.

Please spread the word to nearby families, and also please pray for the children of our neighbourhood.

Canada Day Street Party

Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a fantastic evening out in the street. Our Canada Day block party is always a highlight of our year, and this year with the gorgeous weather and wonderful turnout was no exception. Thanks to everyone who helped out in preparation; set up the roadblocks, cooked and served the food, helped with the fireworks or just came out and added to the wonderful neighbourly atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to next year.

You can check out more pictures from the evening here. Or click the “recent pictures” to the right…

Being Connected

Check the Being Connected page for ways to interact as a family here at Rawdon. More opportunities for connection and service will be added over coming weeks and throughout the summer. Also, don’t forget about our weekly Sunday gatherings. These are a great place to meet new people and learn about all the ways to participate in the life of Rawdon Street Baptist Church. We look forward to you being a part of the community.

Photostream Added

If you will shift your gaze to the right you will see a lovely display of photographs. Right now it is simply displaying pictures that various people have tagged as “Brantford”, but soon I will be setting up a flickr account for the Rawdon community that will display pictures taken at various functions and gatherings of the community.

UPDATE: Group created… http://www.flickr.com/groups/rawdonstreetbaptist/

If you already have a flickr account you can join and begin posting any pictures of Rawdon life that you may have.
